Release Policy

There’s no easy way to put it: Purchasing doves for you to release yourself is considered unethical and inhumane by those who value the welfare of animals.  Anyone who would knowingly sell you birds for you to release does not play a part in ethical standards many avian professionals uphold. Also, the white ring neck doves found in pet shops do not fly well and will quickly become prey or will perish from hunger. Our doves are “rock dove” descendants, bred for their homing ability, and have been raised and trained extensively to joyfully perform for you.

We at Sky Angels take extra precautions to ensure the safety of our doves, therefore we adhere to the following guidelines…

• To release only well trained, well cared for banded snow white doves

• To ensure that appropriate attire is worn by coordinators that are prompt and reliable.

• To return full deposits for acts of God.

• To not release our doves indoors.

• To not release our doves at night.

• To not release our doves in inclement weather.

• To not ship any birds by mail for self-release.

• To not release our doves beyond a range they are unable to safely fly.
